USPARS Software Package Successfully Developing
The USPARS software package for solving large systems of linear algebraic equations (SLAE) is actively progressing. This year, improvements have been made to the factorization methods of large sparse matrices, enhancing the numerical stability and computation performance. Additionally, the Python interface has been refined. The team released several versions for three platforms — x86, ARM, and Elbrus. Testing results demonstrated that USPARS already outperforms two competing projects in solving three types of matrices.
Last month, the project successfully completed the development of a solver based on USPARS for one of Russia's leading research centers. The solver will be integrated into the customer’s corporate modeling system and used in calculations for a range of applied tasks.
Recently, USPARS was presented at the international “Marchuk Readings-2022” conference and at a workshop on high-performance computing at ICM&MG SB RAS.
The development team at UNIPRO continues to improve the functionality of the project, applying new computational methods and adapting it for various types of computing systems.
