“Porting JS to Elbrus” – at HolyJS 2018 Piter
Published on: June 1, 2018
Young engineers from Unipro's Elbrus team, Dmitry and Vladimir, delivered an excellent presentation at the HolyJS 2018 Piter JavaScript conference, which gathered over 500 participants in May. They presented the results of 1.5 years of work porting the V8 and SpiderMonkey JS engines, used in Chrome and Firefox browsers, to the Elbrus processor architecture.
The audience highly appreciated the informative presentation, which covered the domestic VLIW architecture, the team's techniques for optimally leveraging its specific features, and the test results. The post-presentation "questions and answers" session was also well received, making it one of the best talks in the "Hardcore" section.
