Offshore models

UniPro provides various offshore models for working with clients. The client may choose the model best suited to his needs, which may be one or a mixture of the following:

ODC - Offshore Development Center

ODC is the most advanced model of collaboration, proven to be very effective in our long-term collaboration with Sun Microsystems.
This model provides that UniPro allocates a specific site and a certain number of designated staff to serving the needs of the client on a permanent basis. The designated staff work only on that client's projects. The activities and phases of the project software development life-cycle (SDLC) which are implemented on the remote site (Russia) are determined by the client and the individual project. In the ODC model our teams work according to the client's processing model and SDLCs.

Pure offshore project

This model allows for all aspects of the software development process and all phases of the life-cycle to be taken care of at the remote site (Russia), specifically:

• management of requirements, the project, testing and configuration
• design, implementation, testing
• deployment
• maintenance

In this model, the following activities may be performed by our representatives at the client's site:

• management of requirements;
• on-site testing and deployment;

For most projects implemented according to this model the iterative approach and the corresponding life-cycle model are applied. The projects are implemented according to UniPro's software processing model.

Onsite-Onshore-Offshore Project

This model requires close cooperation with the client's team, and the following project activities and life-cycle phases are performed on the remote site (Russia):

• local management of the project, testing and configuration
• design, implementation, testing
• maintenance

The following activities are performed by UniPro's on-site representatives:

• on-site testing
• deployment to client's site

The following activities are performed by the client's on-site team:

• client management
• management of requirements, the project and testing
• development as needed
• product deployment

Since a close collaboration with the client's team is necessary UniPro ensures that our team works in with the client's processing model and SDLCs.

UniPro on-site facility

UniPro representatives may be located at the client's site on a constant, as-needed or periodic basis. Their responsibilities are defined by the chosen offshore model and client needs.

Remote team accessibility

The remote team may be contacted through:

• Online messaging via the Internet
• Phone calls
• On-site representatives

UniPro ensures that the remote team responds to client or user requests within one working day.

The following facilities for controlling the remote team are provided:

• Weekly, monthly or on-demand reports on time spent/resources used
• Project status reports
• Status updates via webpage
• On-site representative reports
• Phone meetings and conferences
