History
2006
UniPro outsourcing activities has been accruing permanently. We achieved a success both in long-term ongoing projects and newly launched projects. Our engineers were rendered extended areas of responsibilities. Projects' teams are permanently expanded.

3D Modelling Toolkit able to solve complex physical practical problems has been developed and presented. It's potential at various applied cases is tested and intensified.

Ongoing collaboration with IC&G SB RAS results in specific genetics algorithms realization and permanent improvement of the software. UniPro bioinformatics group participated in several international biotechnology and bioinformatics forums.

2005
UniPro is launching a set of new software products:

2004
Together with the geneticists from the Institute of Cytology and Genetics and with the help of scientific production association "Vektor" there have been developed and released new software products for bioinformatics researching: UniPro GenomeBrowser and UniPro DPview.

UniPro TruStudio, IDE for PHP and Python based on Eclipse Platform, is in the process of development.

UniPro sings contract with Intel on:
  • including most UniPro employees in the Intel staff
  • selling a part of UniPro intellectual asset to Intel
The abruptly reduced UniPro staff keeps carrying out its current projects and thinks of different variants for its further development.

2003
Today, UniPro is one of the largest Russian IT companies providing programming services:
  • Employees number 180+
  • We are a stable company with extremely low rate of specialists leaving (0.5% for the past 3 years)
  • We have a well-developed infrastructure with 25,000 sq. ft.of office space
  • 110 people working in 11 teams participate in Sun Microsystems projects on a permanent basis
  • 8 UniPro on-site representatives, on a rotation scheme, are permanently located in our clients' US offices
  • Collaboration with all our original customers continues, and new joint projects are starting up
  • We complete about 20 large (more than 20 manpower years) projects and 30 medium (less than 20 manpower years) projects
  • The company launches its own products.
2002

The Siberian Association of Software Manufacturers "SibAkademSoft" is established. The largest IT providers in the Siberian region participate in the association, which is one of the largest in Russia. UniPro CEO Ivan Golosov is chairman of the association.

2001
  • Collaboration with iSpheres Inc. (USA) begins - a group of 10 engineers starts working on the development of QA test suites.
  • UniPro employees number 130 in total.
1994
  • Collaboration with EnergyLine Inc. (USA) begins - a group of 4 engineers starts working on the development of an EnergyLine hardware-specific embedded real-time OS.
  • UniPro employees number 40 in total.
1992
  • UniPro founded. Collaboration with Sun Microsystems Inc (USA) begins - 16 engineers start working in Sun's projects.
Origin
UniPro was founded by members of a department of the Institute for Precise Mechanics and Computer Technology (Moscow), where the system software for the Russian ELBRUS Supercomputer Series was developed. The Institute's software development included:
  • Several operating systems, including UNIX for Russian mainframes (BESM-6 and BESM-like computers);
  • Compilers for Ada, Algol-60, Cobol, Fortran, PL/1, C, Prolog for ELBRUS-1 and ELBRUS-2 mainframes, Fortran for the EL-90 (RISC micro architecture) and BESM-like computers;
  • Optimizing Fortran compilers for the MPP and ELBRUS-3 supercomputers;
  • Compilers for Russian high-level system programming languages Yarmo-1,-2,-3;
  • DBMS for the BESM-6 and ADABAS-compatible prototype for ELBRUS-2;
  • Applied mathematics software for linear algebra, numeric computations and statistics, created for and ported to various architectures;
